Finlay’s Food Rebrands as BAKO Following BAKO Group Acquisition

We are excited to announce that Finlay’s Food, acquired in 2024, will now trade as BAKO, marking an important milestone in the Group’s expansion across Ireland.

Finlays re brand

Founded in 1976, Finlay’s Food has established itself as a respected manufacturer and distributor of bakery and food ingredients, supplying customers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the UK, Europe and Asia. Operating from a purpose-built manufacturing and distribution site in County Armagh, the business employs approximately 60 people and combines five manufacturing departments with a wholesale operation.

The rebrand reflects closer integration with the BAKO Group and further supports the supply of bakery products into independent bakers and caterers through its depots in Preston, Durham, Wimbledon, Cullompton and Lisburn.

Managing Director of BAKO Lisburn, Bernard McAuley, commented on the recent announcement: “By integrating Finlay’s Foods’ product line with BAKO’s wider range, we are able to diversify our offerings and enhance our competitive edge. The move to BAKO Ireland opens up new markets for us in Northern Ireland and beyond, creating significant growth opportunities.”

BAKO, Home of Finlay’s Food manufactures a range of established bakery ingredients, including vermicelli, sugar strands and jelly crystals, alongside traded goods from leading suppliers. Its in-house new product development capability enables close collaboration with customers on bespoke solutions.

Based in County Armagh, the BAKO site also benefits from enhanced group resources, a broader product range and strengthened supply capabilities, enabling it to deliver greater value and choice to bakery, food manufacturing and foodservice customers across Ireland and the UK.
